Chinese Lunar New Year 2018 is year of the Dog

Inspirations to help celebrate!
Little Year, when preparations start, February 8-15
Spring Festival, February 16-26
Lantern Festival, February 27th-March 2nd.

So wether you are celebrating the Year of the Dog:

Large Dog (Brown)
Large Dog (black)
Large Dog (clear)
Bull Dog (white)
Bull Dog (black)

Poodle* (clear only)

Small Dog*
Dog/Cat Silhouette
Wolf

Or just celebrating! Use one or more of these magnets as a gift for a friend or yourself as a pin, decoration or on your canvas to celebrate new beginnings.

The Spring Festival is a time of change and new beginnings.  Sounds like a great excuse for a new project and/or accessory.  Things to keep in mind, similar to Valentines it is all about the color RED. Popular symbols are flowers, fruits (in particular, oranges, peaches, pomegranates and apples) and birds like the Phoenix.

Other celebratorial appropriate items:
Symbol
Phoenix

Cherry Blossom
Orange*
Pomegranate
Apple

Peach
In ancient times, men were not allowed to go without headdress while women use ornate wands to this day.  Modern interpretation is accessorizing with rhinestone and crystals as seen here.  Not only for the hair but on your person. For example, if wearing a hanfu, clothing of the Han ethnicity which influenced the kimono, you also add pendants to the waistband and in modern wear on the lapel.

Happy Cat

"NAMASTE"

Kimono*

Geisha
An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance.  The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break. - Chinese Proverb

This proverb reminds me of the bond stitchers have with one another. Express your friendship by giving a stitching friend a gift of a needle threaded with a red thread on a needleminder and a copy of this proverb.

Gold Moon

Silver Moon
